Recommend A... Book by a Male Author

'Recommend A... ' is the awesome new feature thought up by the amazing Shanyn from Chick Loves Lit. Each week there will be a different, creative prompt for us to recommend books that we sometimes maybe forget how much we love, giving us the chance to share book recommendations of books that might not get recommended as much as they deserve.

This week we're recommending books by a male author! Most of the books I read do seem to be by female authors, but that does not mean I haven't read awesome books by male authors too! One that I thought of first is...

The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart

ARE YOU A GIFTED CHILD Looking for special opportunities?
When this peculiar ad appears in the newspaper, dozens of children enroll to take a series of mysterious, mind-bending tests. (And you, dear listener, can test your wits right alongside them.) But in the end just four very special children will succeed. Their challenge: to go on a secret mission that only the most intelligent and resourceful
children could complete. To accomplish it they will have to go undercover at the Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened, where the only rule is that there are no rules.
As our heroes face physical and mental trials beyond their wildest imaginations, they have no choice but to turn to each other for support. But with their newfound friendship at stake, will they be able to pass the most important test of all?
Welcome to the Mysterious Benedict Society.

This is a quirky, fun book with lovable characters - Reynie, Kate, Sticky, and Constance (ahh, I love Constance - she's so small, grumpy and stubborn that it really is quite comical but, like all the others, she's also extremely clever as well, and you only realise just how much at the end!) - that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I hope you do too!

***N.B. This is now an award-free zone. I'm honoured if you consider me, but people taking the time to read my posts and comment is the most valuable award I could receive. Thanks! :D
